Hello and pleased to meet you, I'm Louisa!

I lived all my life in the UK until last year, moved all the way to live in South Australia - and here I am, in the photo, in a wild corner of Hallett Cove far from the maddening crowds, full of nature and wildlife (sometimes a bitof scary wildlife!). I enjoy being outside, the fresh air and since arriving in the beginning of a pandemic I have been spending most of my days either with my son, or new kitten Twitchy,...or both of them!

I absolutely love animals, I must admit I'm one of those people who will say hello to a dog 

before it's owner! Can't help myself. Animals are such a joy to be around, and they bring us

humans such joy; that's all they do!

Years ago now I went to university up in Nottingham Trent where I got a degree in Media Studies. It was after that I began working on my art skills and progressed into the greeting card industry,

having some success with designing and producing greeting card ranges. After a few years I began to draw pets and since having my son 6 years ago devised Louisa Houchen Pet Portraits; a modern type of pet portrait that's more than a canvas on a wall.
